From July 16th to July 19th 2014, the 3rd edition of the Canada Deaf Women's Conference (CDWC) will be held in Montreal. This long awaited congress will take place at the Mount-Royal Center, which is located downtown. The main topic will be: "Our roots".
The purpose of this gathering is to bring together Deaf women from around the country. On this occasion, you will attend various conferences in order to learn more about different subjects such as: leadership, self-achievement, reaching set objectives, motivation, overcoming obstacles, mental and physical health, wellbeing... Deaf women rarely have access to information and activities directly in their own language: LSQ (Langue signée québécoise) and ASL (American Sign Language). This event offers the deaf women community a unique chance and an invaluable opportunity of meeting and breaking isolation.
The committee in charge is assisted by the Maison des Femmes Sourdes de Montréal (MFSM) which is a non-profit organization. Its goal is to assist deaf women who are victims of domestic violence, sexual assault or coping with difficulties.
The CDWC can't wait to meet with you in 2014!
